The "Garcia Pass It On Foundation" was established as a means to share resources with people in less fortunate circumstances. Through the foundation, Jeff and Carmella Garcia seek to give back in a tangible way to causes that are close to their hearts. Together we can make a difference by "passing on" our successes to enrich the lives of children and their families across the nation.
We thank you for taking the time to visit our website and for your consideration in supporting our worthwhile cause. Please take a moment to learn more about our featured family.
Meet Laykin Griffin:
Laykin was diagnosed with spindle cell embryonic rhabdomyosarcoma at just 7 months old.
Rhabdomyosarcoma, the largest category of soft tissue sarcomas in children and adolescents, is a malignant soft tissue sarcoma with features of embryonic skeletal muscle. Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, the diagnosis in this case, is the most common type of rhabdomyosarcoma, affecting infants.
At less then one year of precious life, Laykin began her journey to fight this rare cancer and underwent 6 long months of chemotherapy struggling for each and every day.
We are so happy to say that Laykin is healthy and celebrated her 2nd birthday in January of this year. Although her chemotherapy treatments were successful, she will continue to need ongoing medical care for the months and years to come.
As so many of us have been so truly blessed with healthy children and we all hope to never know the pain of watching your child struggle for life, we are asking you to open your hearts to ensure that Laykin continues to receive the necessary medical care that she will need.
